Hi there, and welcome. I am a board certified Ob Gyn and a mother of little kids. My spouse is also an MD in a long-hours call-heavy specialty. We live in one of the most remote places in the country, with very high cost of living, limited job options, and limited (and expensive) childcare options. I thought finding fulfilling clinical work would not be possible. And then I started learning about locums.
When I first started thinking about this option work, I didn’t know if it would be possible. I had never heard of someone doing travel work with young kids, and had no examples or advice to turn to.
After building a successful operations model for myself, I decided to start this blog to give other parents the encouragement and working knowledge of how to pursue professional goals while giving your family the time and nurturing it needs at this stage.
