Hi, I’m an Ob Gyn and a mother of two little kids. My spouse is also an MD in a long-hours call-heavy specialty. With no family support and after trying just about every childcare arrangement under the sun, I decided to try working locums.
When I first started thinking about this option, I didn’t know if it would be possible. I had 2 little kids, lived in a really remote location, and had no examples or advice to turn to.
Figuring it out took work and inspired me to share my experience with other parents who want to find clinical opportunities that fit their goals and lifestyle while also taking care of their young kids.
